Awards to Maryland individuals in eligible locations to recognize exceptional work in the healthcare industry. Awards are intended for those working to improve healthcare, further public education, and advance technology in the field. Nominations will be accepted for individuals from Greater Baltimore, including Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Harford, and Howard Counties.

The 2022 Leaders in Health Care Awards recognize the top individuals in the Greater Baltimore health care industry.

You are invited to nominate someone who is committed to improving care, educating the public or working on cutting-edge health care technology. These people should go above and beyond the call of duty, help develop the profession and make an impact on the community.

Individuals will be honored in the following categories:

  • Health education: Awarded to an individual who is helping to train the next generation of Greater Baltimore's health care workers.
  • Medical cannabis: Awarded to an individual making an impact in the emerging field of medical cannabis.
  • Health care executive (hospital): Awarded to an executive of a Greater Baltimore-based hospital with a track record of vision and leadership within the organization and in the community.
  • Health care executive (non-hospital): Awarded to an executive of a Greater Baltimore-based health care company or nonprofit organization with a track record of vision and leadership within the organization and the community.
  • Health care innovation: Awarded to an individual for breakthroughs in medical technology ranging from research to a new procedure, device or service.
  • Health care outcomes: Awarded to an individual leading an organized effort to improve patient outcomes and community wellness in Greater Baltimore.
  • Senior care: Awarded to an individual making an impact in the areas of senior health care or senior living.

Honorees will be celebrated at an event in October 2022 as well as in the BBJ’s print edition and online.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

From executives and educators to innovators and nonprofits, you can nominate someone who you know is changing health care in the region.

Nominees must be based in Greater Baltimore to be eligible. Greater Baltimore is defined as Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Harford and Howard counties.
