Grants of up to $2,500 to Maryland independent professional artists in eligible locations to offset financial losses incurred due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding is intended to support the rebuilding of the county's arts economy. Eligible applicants are located in Anne Arundel County.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Who May Apply:
- Independent Artists, who are defined as artists who earn income from artistic activities and are not full-time salaried employees of a larger organization.
- Individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
- Applicants must be county residents (owning or renting residential real property in Anne Arundel County at the time of the submission of the application). Artists who have studio or workspace in Anne Arundel but reside in another county will be considered for funding.

Receipt of a 2022 ARPA Independent Artist award will not affect your eligibility for this grant.

Who May Not Apply:
- Artists whose income is derived from the creation or execution of artistic work for industry-oriented or industry-related production.
- Artists enrolled in high school or any undergraduate classes or programs during FY2023 (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023).
- Individuals pursuing graduate instruction in any artistic field in FY2023

Pre-Application Information:

Timeline:
1) The grant application cycle will open November 1, 2022.
2) The grant application period will close on November 30, 2022.
3) An application seminar will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 1:00 pm. The session will review the application and provide applicants with an opportunity to ask questions. A recording of this session will be posted online afterward.
4) Award determination letters will be sent to recipients via email by December 15, 2022.
5) Grant payments will be made via ACH electronic transfer within two weeks of receipt of the signed contract by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.
6) A required final report will be available March 15, 2023
7) Final reports will be due on April 15, 2023
